Hi,
I'm Laura.

I'm so glad you're here. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) based in Ithaca, New York, with over 13 years of clinical counseling experience. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, and my Master of Social Work from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York.
How I See Therapy
I believe you are the expert on your own life, and that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Regardless of what brings you in, everyone has strengths and resources to build on.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic. Rather than looking at one problem in isolation, we'll consider the bigger picture, including the role relationships, work, school, stress, sleep, routines, and other parts of your life may be playing in how you feel.
Most importantly, I want therapy to feel human and comfortable enough to be honest. I'll listen without judgement, offer perspective and practical tools when they're helpful, and work alongside you to create meaningful change and reach your identified goals.
A Little About Me
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and loved ones, walking in nature around Cayuga lake and Ithaca's waterways, practicing Pilates, reading nonfiction, painting, and listening to music.
I'm grateful to call Ithaca home and to do work that allows me to connect with others in a meaningful way. If you're interested in taking the next step, please feel free to reach out. I'd be honored to support you.
